Peace Fresno’s Peace and Justice Festival on Sunday, March 21, will be the largest
convergence of peace activists in the Central Valley, marking seven years of U.S. war
on Iraq. It will be held at the Fresno Fairgrounds, Jr. Exhibit Hall, from 12:30 – 5:00 pm.
Admission and parking are free. The event will feature speakers, music, information,
food, and handcrafted goods.
Speakers include Kathy Kelly, who has visited Iraq 24 times in the past decade, and
Rick Reyes, an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran who is an Iraq Veterans Against War
leader. Musicians Blake Jones and the Trike Shop, Ibicé, the Sanger Academy Charter
School Guitar Ensemble, and the Raging Grannies will perform. Actor Thomas Ian
Nicholas will deliver a speech as Abbie Hoffman from his forthcoming movie “The
Chicago 8” and will perform a set of music from his latest CD.
