Thank you to our community for all your support and donations to aid in the care of the evacuated livestock at our facility from the Creek Fire. The response and support has been incredible! At this time, we are covered on needs and volunteers and want to ensure donations go to other livestock evacuation sites in need, such as Reedley College.

For donations to Reedley College, please contact David Clark at (559) 260-1538. Also, monetary donations can be made directly to the Central CA Animal Disaster Team and will be used to purchase supplies at all evacuation sites. To donate, click here.

The Fresno Fairgrounds continues to be activated by the Office of Emergency Services as an evacuation site for livestock animals from Fresno County communities. The Fairgrounds is working with the Fresno County Ag Commissioners Office who is overseeing the care of all animals evacuated to the Fairgrounds. Please text the Cen Cal Animal Disaster Team at (888) 402-2238 if you need animal evacuation assistance to secure your space at an evacuation site.

While COVID-19 has halted operations at fairgrounds throughout the State since March of this year, it has not stopped them for rising up to help in times of emergency like now. Did you know that currently there are 11 fairgrounds activated as disaster relief centers throughout California? In August, there were 20 fairgrounds that were activated to serve their communities in times of dire need.

At the Fresno Fairgrounds we are honored to be able to assist with the Creek Fire Evacuation needs. This is just one of the essential roles that we play in our community. This can be said for fairs throughout the state and nation. That is why it is important to support these two Congressional bills aimed to help save fairs and ensure they are around for years to come – to continue serving our communities.

  • R. 7745, Protecting Fairs During Coronavirus Act
  • R. 7883, the Agricultural Fairs Rescue Act

Click here to find out how you can support these bills and help save fairgrounds by reaching out to your local representatives.

In times of uncertainty like now, one thing is certain – fairgrounds stand ready to serve their communities. Let’s make sure they are around in years to come! Support your local fair and fairgrounds!
