This specially curated show is guaranteed to have you moving and grooving. Hosted by beloved actor and entrepreneur Danny Trejo, this show features singer-songwriter Trish Toledo, whose style melds 1960s soul with early 1970s music. Trish's musical influences are Aretha Franklin, Barbara Mason and Brenton Wood, which is reflective in her style. Described as a music time traveler who reinvests brilliant pop and soul ballads from the early Sixties with modern fire and fortitude, on her debut album release, Dedicated to the Ones I Love Vol. 1, Trish breathes new life into a classic repertoire.

Adding on to the line-up is contemporary R&B singer and songwriter, Frankie J, whose music style is inspired by Latin and American urban hip-hop and R&B. Formerly a member of Los Kumbia Kings, Frankie J went solo with 2003's, What's a Man To Do?, a collection of ballad-dominated material that was released on record label, Columbia. In 2005, he released, One, and then released two back to back albums in 2006 titled, Un Nuveo Dia, and Priceless. After parting ways with Columbia Records, Frankie J returned to Courage Records in 2011. Two years later, he released, Faith, Hope y Amor, which featured guest appearances by rapper Pit Bull. In 2017, he was nominated for a Grammy nomination for "Best Latin Pop Album." Frankie J has worked with and alongside artists such as Baby Bash, Chamillionaire, Lil Rob, Dulce Maria, Rob G, Jermaine Dupri & Mannie Fresh, plus many more.

The show also features singer-songwriter and guitarist, Cota, who has opened shows for both classic soul artists and hard-edged hip-hop creators like The Game and Tyga. His voice sings with a smooth angelic vocal tone that is reminiscent of the R&B greats who have influenced his craft.

Danny Trejo has developed a prolific career in the entertainment industry with a hard-earned and atypical road to success. From years of imprisonment to helping troubled youth battle drug additions, from acting to producing and now on to restaurant ventures, Trejo’s name, face and achievements are well-recognized in Hollywood and beyond. Trejo has starred in films like Machete, Machete Kills, Desperado, Heat, the From Dusk Till Dawn series, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, the Spy Kids movies, and many more. He’s had recurring roles on Sons of Anarchy, King of the Hill, Breaking Bad, and The Flash to name a few. When Trejo isn’t on screen, he’s getting his hands in other hustles, like recently expanding his Trejo’s Tacos empire in Los Angeles area, as well as Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts. Danny also plays continuous roles as a devoted father of three and an intervention counselor. Danny’s colorful life and prolific career are chronicled in the latest bio-documentary Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo.

UPDATE:

Due to unforeseen schedule conflicts, Russell Thompkins, Jr. and The New Stylistics will not be able to perform as part of the Cruising with the Souldies concert on October 8th in the Paul Paul Theater as part of the Table Mountain Concert Series. In their place, soulful singer-songwriter Trish Toledo will perform. Her 60s and 70s era musical style will make this a great night of music! Cruising with the Souldies is hosted by Danny Trejo, and features Trish Toledo, Cota and Danny’s Angels. If you purchased tickets before the artist change, and would like a refund, please email boxoffice@fresnofair.com. Already purchased tickets are still valid for this slightly adjusted show.
