Traditional Big Fresno Fair Reinvents Itself As A Series of Drive-Thru & Virtual Fair Experiences
COVID-19 has undoubtedly changed everything about our lives, what we do and how we do it. While it has changed everything, that doesn’t mean everything has to stop. Things can be adapted, like our Big Fresno Fair, so we can continue to enjoy some of these elements in a new way.
The Big Fresno Fair Management has reinvented the traditional Big Fresno Fair into a series of drive-thru and virtual experiences. This model is being executed by other large fairs throughout California like the OC Fair, San Diego Fair, Alameda County Fair and California State Fair. This format is most prudent in order to bring our community a bit of Fair fun, while doing our part to protect public health and safety.
We continue to work in collaboration with the Fresno County Department of Public Health on operational plans that center on public health and safety, aligning with local, State and CDC guidelines for COVID-19.
More finalized plans and details on these drive-thru and virtual Fair experiences will be shared, but here is our direction at this time:
- Drive-Thru Fair Food with Grounds Entertainers Performing as you wait in your vehicle
- Live Horse Racing with no spectators; online wagering available
- Virtual Livestock Auction with potential for single-species “show and go” judging days
- Virtual Competitive Exhibits Show
As with everything COVID, things remain fluid and aspects of these plans can adjust as we get closer in a collaborative decision with the Fresno County Department of Public Health.
