Meet Callie Flores, an American Union 4-H student who is a 6th grader at Washington Colony Elementary School:
"Hi, my name is Callie Flores and I am 11 years old. I am in the sixth grade and I attend Washington Colony Elementary School in Easton. I have been showing Boer Goats and Pygmy Goats for three years now and I really enjoy it. This year I’m showing my doe June and wether Elvis. June and Elvis are boer cross meat goats born March 2020. June was born and raised on our farm and we purchased Elvis from a local breeder. They eat MoorMan's ShowTec and MoorGrands Goat Feed and Purina High Octane Champion Drive two times a day.
4-H has been part of my life from an early age, since she I was 2 years old. I have watched my cousins show Market Hogs, Sheep, Goats and I’ve spent a lot of time at the fairs. I’m following in the footstep of my Grandfather and Mother, who raised Hampshire Sheep, Pygmy Goats and Hogs. I currently own and breed 14 Registered Pygmy Goats and 3 Boer Goats. Exhibiting Market animals for fair takes a lot of hard work and is a big commitment financially. I raise Pygmy Goats and sell them to the community, I also participate in jackpot shows through-out the year in addition to Caruthers and Fresno Fair. This is the first time I will be exhibiting a market goat I raised on our farm."
