Meet Kailey Guzman, a Reedley Middle College FFA student who is a Senior at Reedley Middle College.
"I got into FFA because at the ripe age of five after I made the
life changing decision to become a Veterinarian. Understanding FFA had a hand
in animal intervention I knew it was the organization for me but little did I
know the difference it would make. I started off showing a lamb despite never
actually even had been near one and fell in love with the art. My sophomore
year I won Southdown Grand Champion and second place in showmanship with my
Junior year following with Southdown Reserve Grand Champion and second place
once more. Aside from projects, FFA presented the Veterinary Science CDE and I
am proud to say that as of 2025 I am the 5th highest individual in the state of
California and apart of the State Champion team. At the end of October I have
the generous opportunity to represent California at the National level and
hopefully put our state up on the board!
Go big or go home is what I told my mom when we bought my
second project for this year. Sticking with Southdowns I have General
Jawbreaker, a 127 lb wether with a cuddly face and attitude to go with it. As
his partner in crime, I have First Lieutenant Milkyway, a 130 lb Crossbred ewe
as tall as she is clever. I love my lambs and I know they will do great no
matter what. My current goal for them is to find a buyer who will either enjoy
them on a plate or in a herd. Thankyou, for your interest and general support
and a special shout out to the BFF livestock team who runs the show behind the
curtain."
