Meet Rocio Mejia, a Tranquillity FFA student who is a Senior at Tranquillity High School.
“I got involved in FFA my freshman year learning about FFA in my earth science class. My sophomore year I decided I wanted to participate more and ran for office. I also raised a market goat that year and since then I've loved raising animals and serving my chapter. It's important to me because I've learned many leadership skills and made friends through this organization. I've grown so much from all the lessons my advisors, friends, and animals have taught me. I'm so grateful for everyone I have met and everything this organization has given me.”
“This year, my project is raising a market pig and chickens. I have dedicated my summer and after school time to caring for my animals and helping them reach their best potential. Every morning and afternoon, I feed them and give them the attention they need. For my pig, I walk her daily, wash her twice a week, and brush her every day to keep her healthy and looking her best. For my chickens, I make sure their feed and water are always full. On hot days I turn on the misters so they can stay cool. Overall, I have worked hard to give my animals the best care possible.”
