The fan-favorite Tamale Throwdown returns as part of the Fair's Agriculture Competitive Exhibits, celebrating the creativity, tradition and flavor behind one of the region's most beloved culinary staples. Open to both Amateur and Professional competitors, the contest invites participants to showcase their best recipes in three categories: Best Meat, Best No Meat/Vegetarian and Best Sweet/Dessert. The Tamale Throwdown highlights culinary talent while honoring the rich cultural heritage and community traditions that make this competition a Fair favorite year after year. Judging will take place at 11 a.m. with the winner announced at 5 p.m.
