Livestock Pavilion

Carolee Boele Livestock Pavilion

Agriculture is the basis of why fairs were first developed. At The Big Fresno Fair, we pride ourselves on showcasing one of the best Livestock Pavilions in California’s fair circuit.  Truly an exhibit for all ages, the Carolee Boele Livestock Pavilion features 11 days of livestock events showcasing beef, dairy, goats, sheep and swine – plus don’t forget about the rabbits, chickens, turkeys and more!

The Livestock Pavilion is driven by the next generation of men and women in agriculture – the 4-H and FFA students. Through showing their animals at The Big Fresno Fair, these students not only have the opportunity to showcase and sell their animal projects, but also learn responsibility and gain agribusiness experience throughout the process.

Thank you to all those who supported our local 4-H, FFA & Independent Members during the 2016 Big Fresno Fair by purchasing an animal, placing an add-on or providing a cash donation during the Jr. Livestock Auction! This annual competition is a culmination of one year’s worth of work for agriculture students who select, purchase, feed and groom livestock to be judged, graded and sold at the Fair. Money from this auction allows them to continue their animal projects and even save for college!

Join us for the 2016 Jr. Livestock Auction on Saturday, October 8 and Saturday, October 15!

If you want to learn more about how you can participate in our Jr. Livestock Auction, contact our Livestock Department directly at (559) 650-3292 or

What is 4-H and FFA?

4-H Clubs consist of youth, ages 9 through 19, who are taught various principles of their chosen projects by volunteer, adult leaders as part of the Univision of California Extension (teaching) Service. Future Farmers of America (FFA) is a national organization of students enrolled in vocational agriculture classes. The local unit is the chapter in each high school offering vocational agriculture under the supervision of the agriculture teacher, who is always the local chapter advisor.
