Little Italy Maps

These maps represent a year in the life of a section of Fresno, commonly referred to as Fresno's West Side or "Little Italy". Using information published in the Polk City Directory of Fresno (1931), Sanborn Insurance Maps (1931), Census Reports, as well as other related documents, the authors, John and Linda Shorb, prepared the content of this beautiful display. These are the neighborhoods where many Italian immigrants settled, raised their families, and worked in the early 20th Century.
