Meet Dana Nunez, a Tranquillity FFA exhibitor!
"At first, I thought FFA was mainly for farmers and people who already knew a lot about agriculture. Once I got involved, I realized that FFA is so much more than that. It gave me a place where I could learn, grow, and explore all the different branches of agriculture while gaining hands-on experience. FFA became more than just a program to me because it gave me a place where I felt welcomed and supported. It became like a home away from home where I could meet new people, make memories, try new things, and discover what I am interested in while learning skills that will help me in the future.
For my project this year, I am raising a market lamb named Chavela. She is a Hampshire ewe, and I have been responsible for feeding her every morning and afternoon, making sure she has clean water, a clean pen, shade, and enough exercise. I regularly work with her to build our bond and help her become more comfortable being handled. I also spend time working with her to improve her shape and help her develop into the best market lamb she can be. Through this project, I have learned the importance of being responsible, consistent, and patient while caring for and developing an animal."
