Meet Emma Hall, a Reedley FFA exhibitor who is a junior at Reedley High School.
“I got involved with FFA because, before high school, my parents had told me that they had shown animals like pigs at their local fairs. I thought that sounded fun, so I gave it a shot and enjoyed it. After showing that chicken, I realized how fun it could be if I just participated, which led me to participate more and more in the program till I reached where I am today.
FFA holds a very special place in my heart, as I met many people, I would consider very close friends and some even family. I found a place where I feel like I belong, and everyone in FFA is such a kind and honest person that I strive to be like. Furthermore, FFA is something I truly enjoy. I'm very competitive, and FFA really nurtures that with all their competitions while also teaching me to be a good sport and encouraging me to study topics I didn't even know I was interested in!
This year I am showing a Boer goat named Douglas! Douglas and I work very hard every day on training and showmanship. Through all the hardships we've faced, Douglas is still going strong! He is currently 4 months old and is growing up to be big and strong."
