Meet Joel De La Torre, a Tranquillity FFA exhibitor!
"I joined FFA because, as I went to FFA events, I began having fun, building a community, and slowly realizing that I wanted to be involved in agriculture and that FFA is a good opportunity for me to grow. Over this past year, it’s become so much more than just farming and animals. FFA has taught me responsibility, hard work, and confidence, while giving me hundreds of opportunities and memories that continue to shape who I am today.
My project for this year’s Fair is a market swine. The name I chose for my pig is Penny. Penny is a very loving pig, and she loves getting pets. Every single day, I make sure to feed, wash, and train my pig for the fair. My project has taught me how to be more patient, especially when walking her. This is my first ever project for the Fair, and I hope to keep showing an animal in the upcoming years. I have enjoyed my time with her, and I’m really hoping she does well at the Fair."
