Meet Kaely Gutierrez, a Sanger FFA student who is a Senior at Sanger High School.
"I got involved in FFA because I wanted to grow through showing animals and being part of something bigger. This program has made me a better version of myself by teaching me responsibility, leadership, and confidence. It’s opened so many doors for my future and has shown me so much about agriculture and life in general. FFA has also helped me meet new people, get more comfortable talking to others, and improve my public speaking skills.
This year my project has been with Boer goats—one market and two breeding does. They definitely keep me on my toes with all their chaos and sass, but that’s part of what makes working with them so fun and challenging. I’ve put so much time into feeding, exercising, grooming, and training them to be ready for show. Each goat has its own personality, and learning how to handle them has taught me patience and persistence. Even with all the attitude, the work I’ve put into them has been worth it, and I’m proud of how far they’ve come."
