Meet Layla Aguilar-Lombera, a Reedley Middle College FFA exhibitor!
"Hi I’m Layla Aguilar-Lombera. This year I’m a part of the Reedley Middle College FFA program. This year I will be showing and auctioning my first ever sheep. I am excited to show off my lamb Rocky this year. Throughout this process it has been amazing. I have learned more about responsibilities, how to relay on other members for information, time management and how to have a good work mind set.
Going into this project I didn’t take it as a fun activity and take it lightly. I took it as a way to get more experience working with animals and as a way to get use to farm work even if it’s only by a little. I have been going to the farm every afternoon to walk, feed, and interact with my lamb Rocky. When I first got Rocky, I did struggle with learning how to walk and brace him. However, with the present efforts and help from my amazing FFA instructors and members, I have been able to do it with ease. It does have its challenges because of school and other outside events that I had dedications to. Therefor I had to use time management skills to make sure I give Rocky the proper time and attention."
